Varanasi, the holy city of India, is also known by the name of Kashi and Benaras. Kashi, the city of Moksha for Hindus since centuries. In Hinduism it is believed that those who die and are cremated here get an instant gateway to liberation from the cycle of births and re-births. Varanasi is the oldest city of the world. Varanasi is more than 3000 years old and is famous as the city of temples. In Varanasi, there are temples at every few paces.
The holy city of Pushkar is located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan, India. Pushkar is one of the five sacred dhams or pilgrimage sites for devout Hindus. One of the oldest cities of India. Pushkar lies on the shore of the sacred Pushkar Lake. The sacred waters of the Pushkar lake are considered at par with the waters of the Mansarovar lake situated on way to Mount Kailash the abode of Shiva.
KUMBH MELA is a mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river. It is the world’s largest religious gathering, with 80 million people expected in 2013. It is held every third year at one of the four places by rotation: Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayag), Nasik and Ujjain. Thus the Kumbh Mela is held at each of these four places every twelfth year. Ardh (“Half”) Kumbh Mela is held at only two places, Haridwar and Allahabad, every sixth year. The rivers at these four places are: the Ganges (Ganga) at Haridwar, the confluence (Sangam) of the Ganges and the Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati at Allahabad, the Godawari at Nasik, and the Shipra at Ujjain.
Theyyam, also known as Kalyattom, is an age-old socioreligious ceremony of Kerala State. As the name suggests, Kaliyattaom is sacred dance performed for Goddess Kali ( Gaoddess Shakti): it is sometimes called Theyyattom since every thera (village) is bound to perform it.
In previous post i was posted about Varkari (Devotee) of Dhapewada village. and this post i am posting more images that story. If you don’t know about Varkari so The Varkari movement includes the worship of Krishna in the form of Vithoba and a duty-based approach towards life emphasising, moral behavior and strict avoidance of alcohol and tobacco, strict vegetarian diet and fasting on Ekadashi day (twice a month), self-restraint (brahmacharya) during student life, equality and humanity for all rejecting discrimination based on caste or wealth, the reading of holy books by all castes, the reading of the Haripath every day and regular bhajan and kirtan.
Some 38 km near from Nagpur city is The Dhapewada Village. This Village is situated on the banks of the Chandrabhaga river. A noteworthy future of village is Temple of The Vithoba which overlooks the river. Dhapewada is also known as Pandharpur of Vidharbha. Every year the day of Guru Purnima devotees come here for darshan of Lord Vithoba. Devotees known here name of Varkari. All Devotees come near villages and small town’s.

The Ganesh Utsav is Festival of India especially state of Maharastra. The Ganesh is Daivat ( god) of Maharastrian people. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in almost each and every household of Maharashtra, with great faith and belief, for around ten days. The celebrations take place at both individual and community level. Huge pendals are set up and the idol of Ganesha is worshipped by the entire community together, with pomp and show.
The Ajanta Caves are a series of 29 Buddhist cave temples in Ajanta, India, some of which date from the 2nd century BC. Encompassing both Theravada and Mahayana Buddhist traditions, the Ajanta caves preserve some of the best masterpieces of Buddhist art in India. Many visitors explore the Ajanta Caves in conjunction with the nearby Ellora Cave’s.

Foggy weather has the tendency to make some people feeling gloomy and depressed. That’s ok, since photographing in the fog often results in amazing moody images with an unreal painting-like softness. It might seem a bit tricky at first to overcome the overall flatness of the scene.
Unlike other pilgrimage centres, devotees here can perform puja or abhishek or other religious rituals themselves.
One of the unique aspects of the village Shiganapur is that houses here have no door- frames or locks on them for safety. They are in fact not needed. The people here believe that it is the benediction of the god that no crime ever occurs in this village.
When we are in journey we have many experience especially in pilgrim. last week i was going to Shegaon. The Shegaon is famous for saint Shri Gajanan Maharaj. In shegaon burial site of saint Gajanan Maharaj.
The Sai Baba mandir in Shirdi is active and every day worship of Sai is conducted in it. Pilgrims visit Shirdi every day. Shirdi Baba is especially revered and worshipped in the state of Maharashtra and in Gujarat. A religious organisation of Sai Baba’s devotees called the ShriSaibaba Sansthan Trust is based there.
